Wierd Moon Last Night

did anyone see the moon lastnight, it was really bright, and there was a red glow around it, but it was wierd cus after the bright glow, close to the moon, there was a dark area, then like another "ring" of glow around it

Well, it sounds like it was a Lunar Eclipse. Usually when the moon is reddish and has a corona.... like you described, then it is a lunar eclipse (or was it solar eclipse?)

I don't know if all parts of the world would see the moon the same way, to do the angle of where you seen the moon which governs how big/the color of it (unless I am wrong)

Dunno what it is though, but moon+star stuff is interesting.

Yeah I didn't want to look like an idiot if I couldn't spell it.

The moon was very orange a few nights ago though, but no red rings.

You mean a total solar eclipse (first post). The moon shadows the sun, but only leaving the corona visible. You cannot see the corona otherwise, you would make your eyes bleed. Scientists take photos of coronas often, and if what you did see did really happen, it would be on the news somewhere.
