I think we've passed that period in time. Now we can all be friends. Seriously though, either be my friend, or just shut up. That's what I tell all of my black friends at school.

No one is offended by cracka. Seriously. If you are, you're a pussy.

The "N-Word" has a history attached to it. It's never had a positive meaning, and has always been used in an antagonistic manner. Add to that, several hundred years of slavery, etc etc. The word rappers used isn't sounds similar to the racial slur, but it has a very different meaning.

That said, words don't hurt unless you allow them to, although the intent behind the usage of certain words is usually enough to start a fight.

But wouldn't that mean that the black people insult each other everytime? And if you mean about the intent of it then why are they ofended when white people say it just like the black people.

i got told that the N-word has 2 meanings:

1st, Black, dark -Latin
2nd, Trash,dirty, dirt, garbage -latin.

thats the reason why mostly black people get upset because of this word. though most of them dont even know about it and acting up because they think they know what they dont know.

Also its has to be a personal thing, a few dont care ( *gosh, let him chitchat) and the others act up for some reason.

There's a huge difference between ending the word with an er and getting rid of the er and ending it an a. The former is the racist term, the latter means "my friend", or "*****" (***** plz = ***** please) or basically whatever else you want it to mean. It's pretty flexible. When someone calls you a ******, though, it's because you've either offended them, or they've offended you.

It has nothing to do with the meaning of the word in latin. It has to do with the context in which it was used during a certain period in time.

Edit: Friggin censors. Alright, the first ***** is the "b word" (female dog). The third ****** is the racial slur.

I don't know if this is an American thing or not...But the black people that use it together (not ALL of us do, such as myself), is basically a synonym for "person", usually a guy, and they assume they are black, but they may not always be.

Black people rarely call someone the n-word out, when we do, it does not have the same connotations as a white person, and sometimes it's just a joke. There's a sense of some type of irony when a black person calls another black person the n-word negatively.

EDIT: Yeah like Xerim said, there's a big difference between "ga" and "ger". If white person went up to a person and said "What's up my (gaaaa!", chances are the black person will either laugh it off, we weired out, or slightly annoyed. Now if a white person said "get out of here (you) (ger!)", they will most definantly be offended.

But when a white person says it, there's something wrong with it. Why? Since it is blatantly obvious that over 200 years of injustice are tied in with that word and the least they could do is not say it anymore.

Black people RARELY use cracker in real life. And if they do, it's usually funny. I asked some of my white friends if they were offended by "cracker". They thought it was funny to be called it. Because it's a ****ing food. "Cracker" has no where near the power as "******" and to think that it does is ridiculous.

Seriously though, either be my friend, or just shut up. That's what I tell all of my black friends at school.
It really, really, isn't that simple. That's like saying "oh lol water under the bridge". I would not expect a Jewish person to say "oh that holocaust. That was YEARS ago, who cares?". They are still your friends, but there are still taboos.

Why is it ok for Black people to call us crackers and stuff like that, but if we call them ******s, then we are the ones who are wrong. Seem kinda unfair? =/
lol unfair? Look who runs the country! Hispanics have been known for labor, and a lot of Asian and Indian have businesses run by the families. What do we got? Some thug on the television talking about how much money he makes and what kind of gun he carries. We had fantastic leaders in the past, but it's looking kind of gloomy now.

African Americans make up 13% of the US population, yet we make up over 50% in all prisons in the US. (I am not saying that this is because of white people, if that's what you're getting at).

So yeah I think if white people are forbidden to say a certain word, that it's pretty fair. Shoot I wouldn't doubt for a second that they say it around friends jokingly.

Awww. Ebonics.

They say "I'm Gangsta. So I can say the stuff", even if they aren't the same skin color. Where "caucasians" are prohibited, by "gangstas", to use any sort of that stuff in their language. It's pretty ridiculous. Who'd wanna neway, hu fool? I aint got no reason to use that rubbish.

Seriously, where I live.. saying ******(er) and meaning it in a negative way, is like a short cut to death. Same goes If you insult anyone based on skin colour over here. (look up South-African history).

I call all my black friends *****(a) though, but we usually just joke around. Nothing serious attached or anything and they call me all sorts of junk, but we just see the irony and humour in it.

I'm not white but to back them up, cracker is a racist word. It didnt come out of the blue. Crackers refer to the slave owners who "cracked" their whips at the slaves. Look it up.

I was using that for an example Zeo. Im just sayin, it seems like the minorities can be as racist as they want, but as soon as the whites start pullin some of that stuff.. then we are completely wrong. Makes absolutely no sense.

I always think of it this way. Calling a black person the N-word is like calling a women a b*tch, they aren't your property, so of course they are going to get offended if you claim they are. Same goes with the N-word, black people aren't your property, as the word implies, so if you call them that, they will get offended. You wouldn't call a women a b*tch, so you shouldn't call a black person the N-word, plain and simple.
