Why does nobody play ESF Open Beta Final?

I've been playing ESF ECX for a bit and there's plenty of servers with people in em, but I just installed the latest beta from the main site and there's not even one server up..

It was originally released as an unstable test build. Whilst it did have a few new features, it was incomplete and buggy so people stopped playing it pretty quickly.

Open Beta was basically a bug test version of ESF. It was never meant for online gaming. Besides being extremely buggy, it was incomplete.

So if you want to play ESF online, 1.2.3 is what you should play.

ah ok, so is the beta being worked on still? I mean is there still support for it?

The beta is basically an older version of ESF. It is technically between 1.2.3 and the "Final" version that is being currently worked on, the one you see videos of.

So short answer, yes it is still being worked on.

I'd say that it isn't being worked on at all. The Open Beta is closer to an alpha release than it is to anything else. It's barely playable, and isn't even close to being what the developers are working on right now. You have a lot to look forward to when the ESF team releases ESF: Final.

Technically ESF was kinda scrapped and restarted after the last Open Beta ^^

Not so much scrapped as things just kept getting added on and replaced old things.

Well there is the player character variables though those were modified to allow the XML system, so not even those are fully original.

The way beams work as weapons on the other hand should still be traceable back to the very first alpha though.

Yeah I figured that the beams were from the alpha/beta since they seem to be mostly untouched.
