I think Alea has a good point. There aren't enough interesting, exclusive games for the XBox to really warrant a purchase (at least, IMO). Sure, it has XBox Live, but Sony and Nintendo both plan on delivering free online services for their next-gen systems, and if they don't half-ass things, people will get the clue soon enough and drop Live for free online services. Most XB games are also available on the other systems, so assuming a certain (multiplayer) game is the same on 360 and PS3 (or even Wii), people will probably pick the PS3 (or Wii) version because of the free online services. Hell, I know I would.
I too agree with the 360's current lack of good games. That is the reason I don't have one.........yet. I'm getting pretty phsyched for the 360 because it's next wave of games are looking incredibly solid. With stuff like Gears of War, Lost Planet, Too Human, Bioshock, and Mass Effect. Plus the eventual blockbusters later on like Halo 3, and Ninja Gaiden 2 are giving me, and i'm sure many other people, some very good reasons to get the 360.
So that's why i'm planning on getting a 360 before the PS3. First, the PS3 is gonna be pretty expensive. Secondly, like I just said, the 360's next wave of games are looking very solid all the way across the board. Now the PS3 is having it's share of good looking games like Assasin's Creed, and MGS4, but the 360's headstart on the competition is really starting to show it's advantages. So while i'm sure the PS3 will be having lots of great games down the road (and that's why I will get it eventually). The fact of the matter is that when it does come out, i'm gonna be able to get a 360 for cheaper, and it's gonna have it's entire second wave of games either out, or near release, and almost all of them look damn good.
Hmm, on another note, i'm kinda surprised at the amount of people who will be getting a Wii. I guess this E3 seems to have swayed a fair bunch of people over to their side.
