The idea is simple, the player uses a special combo
(like the 2 combos currently in game)
if a kick or punch lands then your character will release its wave beam.

The beam will give damage just like a prepunch or the current combos
(maybe a littel bit more).
Unlike the current combos this one will use up ki.

Ideas for beams:

goku , ssjgoku, krillin, ssjgohan cell1 => kamehameha.

gohan ,piccolo => masenko.

frieza all forms. => finger lazer ( like in secondery use).

cell2, vegeta => garlic gun.

buu all forms => mouthblast.

trunks => flamthrower (like he did on frieza)


Ok, now if your enamy hp is low and the beam will kill him a simple fade away
animation should begin like the teleport after image.

I thinke this is a simple and fun way to get wave beams into the game.
Tell me what u think.

I think it should do more damage.. a lot more damage.. be harder to execute... and 2/3/all of your KI will be gone.

yes, i agree ...it should be harder to execute...
maby it coulde be long and complicated so it wont be abused

and also it should be easy to block...

i shoudn't make it too hard to use it, but more like when you fight, you get a health meater of your opponnetn displayed, and when he his at 10% of his health, you can kil him

Edit: You could use the kind of animation like from DBZ bodokai.. (but then spelled right)

If it did major damage, it'd be abused alot. Maybe keep the damage down to just over a normal combo, and maybe give it more directions, with an array of kick and punches and maybe have it so you have to have at least 2 punches/kicks hit before the combo commences or something.

How about if you do the wave attack and the oppent blocks it, it is blown back at you and you get more damage than it would have done when you shoot it, but you can't block it when your oppent deflect it back to you.

Meaning:

You do: Upper punch, lower punch, left punch, upper-left kick, lower kick, forward kick, right kick(All of these attacks must be meduim or light attack) and then the wave attack.

Oppent does: Block everything succesfully and then automaticly deflect or block half or more and then a block struggle appears and you and your oppent can pump ki into the bar to try and win. If succesfully block deflect back to you if not succesfully block, it does 1.5x normal damage to oppent.

This why it might not be abuse

i dont really like the idea of the beam blowing back in your face...
i think itshould act like the combos therefor u wont have a counter combo

i really want to see what one of the team members think....(anyone?)

maybe there can be a combo that makes ur character shoot out an energy ball that push back ur enemy ...

-this should be more easy to preform.
-cost ki
-ur enemy wil struggle it
-if he hits a wall or run out of ki it will blow.

exampels:
USSJ trunks did it to cell ...
supervegeta to cell form 2

(i even saw tien littel friend do it on king kai plant) O_O

i think the beams should be implemented in the combos.. or maybe you perform a combo that would be a ki blast, or beam.. hehe

Hate to point this out, but that just makes the mod closer and closer to DMZ.
I really don't like the idea, cause When I manage to prepunch someone, I am already low on KI and I don't need to use it up. Just knock them back, and charge a new attack really fast.

I don't think beams should be part of combos. They're mostly used for finishing moves or distant fighting, not close fighting.
Take a good look at some more DBZ episodes. Small beams might work, but not signature beams like the Kamehameha.

there are alot of episodes where u see a character uses a huge beam
from short distance..

need exampels:

vegeta VS juice
dabura VS kabito
goku VS cell
vegeta VS babadi henchmen (that majin guy or whateva )

i dont really care what kind of beams will be used ...
they can all be a bigger version of genertic beams...

Doesnt really metters the idea is to inplent wave beams ...but i can see ur point :]

thats why i made another suggestion to supercharge your signature moves like kamehameha... wouldnt have to do them in the combo necessarily, but you could do them upclose
Well look ,the whole point of this thread is wave beams as
a PART of the combo system...

the reasons for it is simple:

1. it will be very easy to do (code), not like other suggestions of wave beams that offer to redo the system. :S

2. the characters almost always uses this wave effect upclose..
and when do u really get upclose to ur enemy ingame?

now u get it?

also it should be part of the combo if you do beams and blasts.. maybe the team would maek a certain combo and the end part of the combo would be a hard punch, where you would throw a beam in their face that would make them get blasts away

its not the same man...

+a wave beam should have a limited rang..
it cant really turn and switch directions ,its too massive
u know ,flamethrower style ...the best way imo is a combo

Doing a key combo for a beam is just not how this game was made, so I doubt that they'll put this in. Like KWS said, that's DMZ's style of play.
