What types of software are good for video compressing?

Video compression is not warez. It's legal. Fraps is a game footage ripper, not a compression method.

The most common compression codec are XviD, DivX, and the new h.264 MPEG4 codec. Go to http://www.doom9.org for more information. VirtualDub/VirtualDubMod are programs you can encode uncompressed footage into compressed video using one of these codecs. Doom9 has the program.

I said fraps has stuff on compression. They link you to places where youc an DL programs to compress video files.
