I believe 1.2.3 came out either in December of 2004, or in January of this year - somewhere in that area.

Wow, so that's nearly a year ago... I hope version 1.3 doesn't take too long (1 year seems a long time to me). Then what I don't understand is how they have made a mod for ESF with the new features so "easily" and instead ESF is taking so long for something that is already been done from others...

It's not as easy as you may believe. We're striving for a balanced and fun gameplay with plenty of features. So just be patient. We wouldn't want another EVM would we? :p

I don't know, I haven't tried it. Is it that bad?

Thanks for the reply.

EVM = Unbalanced trash (in it's current state anyway).

I advise you just stick to normal esf for now, to be good for 1.3. If you get stuck into evm I can gurantee you will forget how to paly origonal esf like I once did (the teleport systems is what made that a little tricky).

Now the idea of it was good, the intentions were good, but the final product was very unbalanced and buggy. And the player base, oh god..Most of them are a bunch of whiny, impaitent, rude, ADD children who just want to make big bright lights in a small map, following it with a "OMG LOL". People who usually play EVM get "bored" with ESF.

ESF is taking awhile because the quality is being upped dramatically. When quality is upped, it takes longer to create, such as percise aniamtions, crisp models, and an attempt to be bug free. There is also many other factors they may consider and would defiantly not take just a couple of months, From what I have seen, they are comming a long great.

And so I shall.

Thanks for your nicely-mannered reply to you all.

Another reason its taking so long to release is that we have other things to do. We have other things to do for a living so a lot of the team go out with our friends to hang ou when ever possible. Once we get a career in game development.. maybe then it wont take so long :D

I think that's the release date for 1.2.2, not 1.2.3. I know that they are, in essence, the same thing, but the 1.2.3 installer couldn't have been public that early - it hadn't even been tested yet :p
