Valve is dead. I have heard that Valve won't be around long enough to make another game. Sierra, the company that published HL is in a slump, and I remember hearing that Valve is dying too. Vivendi owns Sierra and has also been in a slump. Could be wrong, even if it is, they'll be around to take care of the game.
Obviously this is a hoax, but I wouldn't expect Valve to make anymore games, like I said I could be wrong though.

Yes. Vivendi Universal owns Sierra.

And about the Valve thing, if it's not true what I said, well, at least you know Sierra will most likely not be publishing too many things in the future.

probly since you where highest bidder Iwa before it was taken off. besides valve use most of it money from hl sale to fund the development of hl so they had no time limit

It just has it for 10 million euros lol and the text is like "We can't compete with Doom 3, so we are just gonna sell" it is rather funny, then it has I *Think* gabe's picture.

considering Vivendi owns a ton of gaming companies, and they just released like 3 free versions of games which is more than any other company has ever done, I think they are doing quite well. And they are publishing a bunch of games that are slated to come out q4 2004 or q1-2 2005 and most of them are expected to be great games, they wont be running low on cash any time soon.

You must not watch the news much my friend. Vivendi stocks have been tumbling for a while, and they've had to cut back on a lot of things. Some say it's because there is still some French resentment in the U.S., I hear about Vivendi's troubles quite often on the news.
And, FYI, usually when they make a game free it's not selling well.
