I've noticed that when I use my computer, people ask me how I do several things so quickly. It's through short-cuts. There are a multitude of useful shortcuts people just don't know about. I'll list a few, and see if anyone else knows some I don't know or forgot to list.

1) CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.

In Windows 95-XP (Home), if you press ALT+CTRL+DEL you get the Task Manager. In XP Pro, NT and Vista--ALT+CTRL+DEL gets you a list of options like "log off, lock computer, etc." But CTRL+SHIFT+ESC brings up the Task Manager alone.

2) ALT+PRINTSCREEN.

When you press Printscreen normally, it copies the entire screen. Then you can open MsPaint.exe/etc and crop it. But if you only want a single AIM IM to be copied, for instance, press ALT+PRINTSCREEN and it'll only copy the Active (front-most) window to the copy buffer.

3) CTRL+ESC

CTRL+ESC will bring up the Start Menu instantly.

Any other useful, lesser-known shortcuts you guys know?

Actually, that's user switching. It doesn't log you out :).

alt+f4 is your friend. It closes the current selected window. So when you're watching that hot ass porn and your mom walks in a swift alt f4 will solve any problems that could have come up if you were fumbling to hit that tiny x at the top right of the screen.

Though everyone probably already knows this. It's really the only shortcut i use.

SHIFT+DELETE

Deletes a file, skipping it's trip to the Recycle Bin.

It's also a good command to use for robbing n00b Runescape players of their items.
