Midway Games and Epic have decided to change the name of the upcoming addition to the Unreal franchise, Unreal Tournament 2007. Today the publisher officially revealed that UT 2007 will now be titled Unreal Tournament 3. A new trailer for the game was released to accompany the name change announcement. The video gives a glimpse of a few levels and weapons as well as a number of vehicles, including the towering tripod-like walkers. One feature in UT3 that's got us especially excited is the cooperative online campaign mode. PC gamers will enjoy the added treat of getting the Unreal Engine Toolset to unleash their inner modder. UT3 is scheduled to be released in the latter half of this year for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

that is just... awsome, i don't even know what to say!
Ut '99 weapons + Awsome Graphics + Deathmatch = Best UT ever, though that vehicle screenshot diffuses me, vehicles ruined ut 04 completely, so i just have to say: damn.

That looks great, but I don't think my computer will even be able to handle that game even at low settings lol.

And on the PS3. But meh, it'll play best on a PC, I'd rather play on an out of date computer than a 360 / PS3, a gamepad doesn't do the game justice.

That enginedevelopers should cut down on the shaders they use for games, they seem to think that the more shaders you throw in there, the better and more realistic the game will look like.. It all started with Doom 3 (well, Quake 3 tbh, but that wasn't that bad), and it only got worse since (with CoD3 as leading game)..

I kinda agree with that statement... even tho I think this new UT game looks fantastic, its not realistic, i've seen games like Stalker, that look a lot more realistic, yet because it does not use those shaders, its seen as a "less good looking game", while its actually far more realistic then games like UT.

Meh, same with bloom... at some points its being over used, tbh bloom is NEVER anywhere in real life, it can add a nice touch tho, like in the prince of persia games, but in that case its in a fairy tale, and isn't as bad as in other games.

Doesn't mean I won't enjoy this game tho, heh.

Err you know that, there is more to graphics than realism >_> Like the developers of Gears of War said "We are not going for the realism thing, we are making the game look stylish bla bla" or something like that. In short, sometimes, realistic is boring. And i really like the way they've done UT3 :p

Are you kidding? I see bloom effects and DX9 water effects almost every day in real life. heh.

Regardless that's the Gears of War engine and I think Gears looks plenty real.

Complaints about shaders is just something to nitpick. Like people back in the day saying that "3D game engines are all flash" and they "have no practical application"...or that "physics is just for bouncy crates." That sort of stuff has been around for years.

Also, BTW: there is a device coming out for Xbox that allows you to use a keyboard and mouse, so I'll be getting it for both, probably.

Crysis looks better than reality =/

I can't really say I'm too excited about this game. I've never enjoyed running and gunning, while hopping around. The vehicles look absolutely amazing, so I'll probably try out the game, just to see what they're like, but I don't think it's something that I'd play often.
