About the crotch...it's the smoothing groups you're talking about but I dont wanna remove them cause they have a huge effect on the Cell Shading (for the best) so...=P
And yep, the toes are a part of all the details I have yet to model, like folds on his shirt and the shuriken bag thingy on the back.
possibly you used svens ref? dunno looks quite similar, im wanting to model him myself, ill see =)

maybe make his mouth abit more down or make his chin go abit up.... something in this area bothers me though.
Umm nope, I used refs from some episodes I have.
And I know whats bothering you in the chin area, the fact that the shirt covers it leaves the idea that the chin is longer than it really is, I can post head shots later along with the refs I used so you'll see the mouth is pretty much balanced out as well.
Too far down it would make his face look much weirder.
