[Tutorial] AMXX and ESF 1.3

Ok. Now that you guys have downloaded ESF1.3 with a LEGAL version of Half-life, you are ready.

Step One- Go to www.amxmodx.org and download the full installer. Once fully installed run the program. ( StepOne )



Step Two- When the AMXX Plugin comes up click Next. Click the "Select Mod Directory" button. Then select the folder of the mod in the Half-life Directory. ( Step Two )




Step Three- Now that AMXX is installed we now have to download an additional thing that allows AMXX to work on Updated Mods such as ESF 1.3 and NNK. Go to http://metamod-p.sourceforge.net/ and download Metamod-P. Once it is downloaded put the Metamod.dll into the Metamod folder in the "Half-life/ESF/addons/Metamod/dlls" location. ( Step Three )



Step Four- Now is time to add the addons to AMXX. Download the Addons on the AMXX site or from the Forums. Add the .amxx files to your "half-life\esf\addons\amxmodx\plugins" Folder. Then once you have placed the file there go to the "half-life\esf\addons\amxmodx\configs" and open the Plugins.ini file with Notepad. Add the name of the plugin to the bottom of the list in full format. "esfrank.amxx" ( Step 4-1 *||||| Step 4-2 )



Step Five- Run the Game and open your Console. Type "amx_plugins 21" and see if it says that the plugin is running. If so you set it up perfectly. If not then try and backtrack through the steps.

I thought ESF 1.3 is yet to be released. How can you be sure that MM will work with it?

Well it works with Open Beta so far. I am just giving a guess since it works with NNK as well.

The Open Beta is to be considered ESF 1.3. ESF Final is a different version (more or less, 1.0).

Its worth a shot though. I am sure there will be some way of getting it to work with 1.3. Anything seems possible at this point.

I agree with everything except for the idea of making a tutorial when you don't even know if it's working. Tutorials should be made after ESFF's release, as it's useless now and will possibly be useless after said release.

Not 100% sure tho but ESF: Final is not really the same as ESF1.3.
ESF 1.3 has been released so far we know. It was only a beta but so much has changed and new plans made up in the team so they call this version ESF: Final

You can always give a shot on esf1.3 if you like to.
But I really doubt it will work on ESF:Final.
Not sure about this but they will block some stuff so amx cant read esf:final for some reason so new addons will be make since esf:final will well enough.
And you get the option to make your own characters anyway.

But like I said I am not 100% sure about this.
Its just something I have heard a long while ago.
And everything can still change since then.

Well eitherway it works for OB so its good enough for now. Just in case people wanna put up a server or something.

My tutorial for ESF 1.2.3 works here as well, as I already mentioned that for OB you need MM-P in a thread I created long ago.
This thread will get pushed down into 2nd or 3rd pages of the forum and it'll be as useful as my thread about MM-P. Or keep it active.

I agree with Damaera.
ESF1.3 has been released only it was a openbeta.
Things have changed a lot since then.
For example more ideas, new team, more possibilities and this new system.
Open beta is not something you can compare with the things they show us right now.

Also they call it ESF:Final and final is final and not 1.3
They wont continue.

But maybe 1 of the team can explain how this version thing will look like and if 1.3 is indeed final.
But like I said to much has changed compare with 1.3 open beta.
