I mentioned this in another thread just recently, but what if Turbo allowed Ki Attacks to absorb more Ki to increase their power?

Three Possibilities

1} The amount of Ki absorbed per second is increased, allowing attacks to be charged more quickly.
This way if you wanted to use a Beam attack that was stronger and could travel faster, you could use Turbo with it to charge it more quickly.

Influence:
Make it easier to enter into equal Beam struggles
Allow faster/stronger surprise attacks

2} The amount of Maximum Ki charged into attacks would be increased, allowing them to be more powerful at a greater cost of Ki.
This would be the opposite of the other idea where attacks could be charged longer to have a greater maximum potential.

Influence
Ki absorption could play an important role in increasing attack damage

3} A combination of the two: Ki absorbed per second and Maximum Ki charged both increased.
This would negate the additional charge time in the 2nd option, and simply allow attacks to consume more Ki for greater damage.

Differences:
Easier to enter into equal Beam Struggles
No additional element of surprise

Influence:
Ki absorption would play a greater role in increasing Ki Attack damage

What's the point?
Always a great question to ask in any suggestion.

In 1.2.3 Ki Absorption is limited both in how much per second is consumed and how much total is stored. This means that Power Level is the only variance in the damage.

I might be wrong about this, but I believe that's the way it works unless told otherwise.

By adding this element with Turbo, Power Level's influence on Ki Attacks may be lessened. This allows Power Level to add more emphasis to melee HP damage and less to Ki Attacks and Struggles. It might make it easier to keep Ki Attacks relatively strong between Characters and Transformations, so everyone doesn't need to have the same Power Level to struggle.

There would also be a greater consequence to using powerful Ki Attacks.

Comments, Additions, Suggestions? All welcomed.

EDIT

1st Setup:
Regular attacks without Turbo could charge more quickly, as mentioned in Option 1.
Attacks with Turbo could increase the Maximum Ki absorbed, so it becomes like Option 3.

Without Turbo, this would allow weaker surprise attacks, and normal strong attacks to be charged quickly.
Since fully charged Ki attacks travel faster with less mobility, this would be ideal for hitting someone at a distance very quickly.

Turbo would add a slightly longer charge time to the minimum, as the minimum could be drawn at a Percentage of the Total Ki, like 20%. (20% of a greater number has a higher value). However, Ki attacks could hold more maximum Ki, allowing them to be stronger than they would've been otherwise.

Without Turbo, attacks would be called quicker... like Kamehameha, within one second.
With Turbo, attacks would be called slower, like KHH within two seconds.

Now if Turbo drained the SAM bar instead of the Ki bar, and using Ki Attacks while under Turbo drained it faster, then this could mesh well with the Quick Beam ideas currently being considered. It would minimize the buttons needed into simply having Turbo on or off.

2nd Setup:
Without Turbo, Ki Attacks could have a static, higher Maximum always in place. It would just take longer to reach it.

With Turbo, Ki could be absorbed more quickly into the attack, consuming bonus points in the SAM bar in the process.

This would allow Quick Beam attacks to exist by simply having Turbo enabled.

Not sure which setup would be better. The 2nd Setup lacks as much variance through Ki Absorption, but it seems to flow better with what's already being considered, from what I understand.

EDIT
Also consider that Charging Turbo could influence either of these factors as well and consume the SAM bar at a faster rate.

Let me know what you think. An idea without feedback is like a car without gas. :)
