hey me again..... hey im still a newb to modling ok
but any way can some one give a list of all the tools i need for creating skins and whatnot?

You can use any kind of image editing program you want. Photoshop is a popular one, so is Paint Shop Pro. Neither of those two are free, however. You'll find a good freeware image editor in the GIMP. Hell, you can even use MSPaint if you want; there's no specialized tool you have to use.

The way you apply the skin to your model, however, depends on what modelling program you're using. It's done in that, and not your image editor.

And if anyone tries to steal your vertices again, make sure you let us know. :O

i have photoshop but i heard you need some kind of "skinmap" thingy or sumthin

While you can find out exactly what you want here, you'll learn alot more about the model making process in general if you look through search engines yourself and use tutorials. If you're not willing to experiment with the program or work through a problem on your own at least for a while before asking questions, you'll only end up stunting your growth as a modeller in the long run. That's my opinion anyway. >_>

first you need a skinmap from your model then you can paint on it.
I prefer Unwrap 3d for this ;)
