me and my family just got back from launching fireworks, we had an abnormal amount of artillery shells so naturally the time it took to acually put them into the tubes was ignored and we were just lighting them and throwing them, or holdingthe launching tube in out hands,

well, i tried to do this, first try as a matter f fact and the artillery shell in question had a very short fuse it was the first one i opened so i assumed that itw as correct, i dropped it into the tube at first when it reached bottom the fuse didnt stick out the top, so i thought the magical powers of gravity would drop it in when the fuse burned short enough, needless to say i was wrong,

i heard the initial pop and noticed nothing shot out, by that point i realized somethin was wrong, cuz you know theres 2 pops, one small one then one huge one inthe air, NOTHING let the tube so i tried to drop it and run but i only had enough time to losen my grip, (to avoid blowing my fingers off) and turn my head, i had an artillery shell, (not a cheap one either) go off 2 feet from my head,

my ears were ringing loud as i can remember them ever doing and everything kinda moved all slow and stuff, i felt like i was underwater for about 15 minutes, i was panicking like hell, and i couldnt bring myself to talk for some rason my family just sat back and laughed not knowing i couldve really ben ****ed up, the ringing stopped and my hearing is back to about normal, (i think) but when we got home i had a lil bit of blood in my ear, on a funnier not my pirate beard and hippie hair were both singed to some degree

now the bleeding has stopped and i can hear out of it but that cant stop me from being paranoid about it,

shoudl i go to the hospital, doctor? or just wait and see what happens.,

id hate to think my hearing ability would be permanently disabled, as bad as my typing skills are itd make even the people i talk to in real life think i was a moron >_>

Thats the stupidest question i have ever heard of, risking ur hearing for nothing. GO man, there is no question, just go, and report back here and tell us what happened. If ur ear is bleeding you might have damaged ur ear drum, and ermm...thats not good. So just go to the emergency room and tell them EXACTLY what happened, and they will look in ur ear, and say something like "oh! i see",and maybe if its serious, they may send you to a specilist, which isnt as bad as it sounds. chances are if you dont go, you could totally lose your hearing. If you go now you can cut those chances in half. So i say erm...duh! GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM!

Like everybody else said, go, you might have got a hole in your eardrum now (I've got a ****load of holes in my eardrum since birth so I was always hard of hearing). If that happend it's not THAT bad, you will hear less that's all, but you gotta let it check up at a hearing specialist, we don't wanna be deaf now do we?

No, you would be able to hear with a busted eardrum. My father has a busted eardrum from swimming to low and it started bleeding a lot. he can hear fine, just he cant go underwater because water will come in very easy.

You should go to the docter, but if you can still hear now, you won't have to be worried about no longer being able to hear tomorrow or such. But just as a precautions, i'd advice you to go to the docter anyway.

well, my eardrum was fine, (see why i hesitated to go,.. wasted trip) but they said the bleeding was from a small burned spot inside my ear, from a peice of the artillery shell that happened to land in there, (how i missed that ill never know)

Ahh, reminds me of when I got a whole roll of those popping caps things for the plastic gum and smashed them with a rock. I heard nothing, only that loud sound that you hear after something loud, and I heard it for like 2 minutes. I was screaming and laughing so loud... I wonder how loud I was...
