Wasn't sure where to put this, but is there anything the admins/mods can do about the 2 minute wait in between posts? I understand that you're trying to reduce spamming and such, but 2 minutes is a bit much don't you think?

I personally agree that 120 seconds is too much. The limit is in place to prevent flooding. But I think that goal is achieved as well by a 30 or 60 second limit.

No one even posts here enough to even have a limit.

I post enough that I have that problem. It's kind of annoying when you wanna answer someone's post but you can't since you already posted a few seconds ago. I think 30 seconds would be an ideal time.

I have seen this board crash with that limit set below 90. Ask Cold Steel, he's the one that crashed it last time.

How does it crash? Just because you're posting so much?

Yea i remember seeing that.

But those were the times when people made 20 threads per day ^^

It crashes the same way you can ping a site. To many requests and kaboom XD

Could you reduce to 90 secs then as a trial? 120 is painful at times, and if 90 passes the test we can experiment a little lower :)

The most recent forum crash was a result of the one from when it was set to 0 once. The forum needed to have a patchwork fix applied to it. Later, when it was at 90 it crashed again. At 120, it has not crashed for the same reason. When I say crash, I mean forum doesn't respond to anything. Database errors, 404s. It's very ugly, I'm not going to repeat myself.

Aright, I just wanted to see if it was possible, but if it makes the forum crash then it's not worth it. I hated it so much when it was super snail slow. But if 90 is the max then why not do that? I'll also try and keep my posts a bit shorter.

90 caused the forum to crash as well after a while. People just don't get it. Write a longer post or type for two minutes, it's not that hard. It has been reduced and eliminated in the past, and I will not budge again because I will need to put it back to 120.

yeah I totally agree, it's insane to be honest.

it "crashing" when put to 90 seconds is either the result of corrupted data ( unlikely, seeing as time between posts shouldn't influence crashes when it comes to corrupted data ) or really crappy
( and I mean REALLY crappy ) hardware which is also unlikely.
so the whole crashing story just strikes me as weird.

if you look at how fast computer systems process data, reducing the post limit from 120 to 90 would have no effect what-so-ever with such a small community.

same goes for the search function and the 1 minute limit, also totally useless.
this would be fine at 0, or 10 seconds just for the anti spammage if you want.

But yeah, this is all useless, cause it has been brought up atleast 3 times before and shot down each time.

oh well

Changed to 100 seconds, hopefully nothing will break as DiebytheSword mentioned.
