as some of you know Dragonball/z/gt is based off of the japanese legend known as "Journey to the West" Well according to the legend Tien i supposed to be one of the most powerful god warriors from the celestrial heaven. he has three eyes, his third eye is suppose to see through all evil and through all disguises, and it's suppose to see as far as the universe itself. he also has a dog that can transform, it's a warrior also.

he only has a third eye because of the dragonball-serie
in dragonball the population wasn´t only human(also werewolf, pigs and so on), but they changed it in dbz into humans

but they couldn´t change main characters

its called Chakra..it allows you to see Aura's + Life energy (Ki or Qi thats japanese)

so i think he just developed one.
