I think the front panel (or maybe the whole thing) is translucent fibreglass which allows light to shine through one side - so you can see out from the inside but not vice versa. Pretty trendy though.

².. But basicly that's how it works anyway (I have the same thing but in metal)

Maybe its just me, but I dont think a clock like that is worth the full $178.70

But then again, maybe its just me.

Well, mine was about €60-70, I'm pretty sure I can transform that into a wooden block (just hollow it out and throw in all the stuff (and be sure to not damage the tiny plastic/plexi layer)
