The Return of the "Name that Game" Game

For all those who remember, there was a thread created a while back in which one person would post a picture from a random/obscure game. After doing so, everyone would attempt to guess what game the picture was from - the first person to correctly name the game would then post their own picture from a different game.

Having said that, I will get the ball rolling with something that's not overly ambiguous:

That said, I have no idea what game this is.

It looks slightly Castlevania-ish, but I know it's not.

Judging by the graphics, I'm guessing this is on a 16-bit system or similar. I'd say it's either a TurboGFX or Master System game, but I can't be sure.

Well, it was released for the SNES, Genesis, and I'm pretty sure it was also on the Master system, though I cannot be sure. If it helps, this game was the third one in its series, and the protagonist (the person with the red hair in the picture) has been central to all of this series' titles.
