"Every great magic trick consists of three acts. The first act is called "The Pledge"; The magician shows you something ordinary, but of course... it probably isn't. The second act is called "The Turn"; The magician makes his ordinary some thing do something extraordinary. Now if you're looking for the secret... you won't find it, that's why there's a third act called, "The Prestige"; this is the part with the twists and turns, where lives hang in the balance, and you see something shocking you've never seen before."
If there was one movie i've seen this year that i'd dub a classic, this would be it. It was absolutely amazing, beautifully told and flawlessly presented. The acting, character development and story were top-notch, with more twists and turns than a bowl of fusilli. Christian Bale does a pretty good old-London accent too.

Has anyone else been to see it yet? o_o

While at my parents for thanksgiving, I saw a sign outside their local theatre saying they had The Prestige. So we went in to watch it, but apparently they decided not to have it. We instead watched Happy Feet. I'll probably make up for it by watching the Prestige this week now that I'm back in a town with multiple theatres that have 12+ screens.

I saw The Prestige a few weeks ago, and I must say, it was probably one of the most, i'm not too sure how to put it, "surprisingly" good movies i've ever seen.

I went into it, not sure what to expect, but it totally blew me away. The story was incredible, the characters were all very interesting, and the whole thing was just intertwined beautifully, with plenty of plot twists to boot.

All in all, it's easily the 2nd best movie i've seen all year (#1 being Casino Royale), and I urge everyone who likes a solid, interesting, dramatic plot to go see this movie.

Awesome movie, saw it last week. Basically it's about Batman and Wolverine fighting each other for two hours.

With magic. O_O

I enjoyed the movie awhile back when it first came out.. One things about it

it is a ONE TIME MOVIE...you can't go back into it again to watch it again...i did that and well..honestly i just felt bored. If you concentrate hard enough you can pick up the "tricks" if you will but a good movie none the less

I disagree, Saru. I've seen it twice with two groups of people and once you know the facts and twists, the second time around is just as enjoyable. Things like *spoilers* Fallon being one of the Borden's, and Angier's clone drowning in one of the first scenes */spoilers*.

It's similar to another Nolan brothers' film, Memento, once you discover the end twist, you re-view the film in a whole other light.

The fountain isn't what you think it is. My lady friend wanted to go see it and I was like, "Oh damn. Immortality? Fighting forever? Highlander returns?" and it turned out to be a chick flick.

I saw part of a commericial and the movie looked pretty good. It didn't look quite good enough for me to go spend money on another Hugh Jackman movie after seeing The Fountain, but it still looked pretty good.
