You guys know that whole AIDS thing? If things go well, its history. To sum the article up, about 95% of our DNA is 'junk', or DNA that is no longer being used. Scientists have found a gene in this DNA that turns on retrocyclin, a protein which gives humans immunity to HIV.

It'll be like polio. They found a preventative measure, everyone who had polio died and that was that. As harsh as it sounds, its not profitable to develop a cure for AIDs if no one new can get the virus, thus it won't be done, and I seriously doubt it could be done in our lifetimes regardless.

Ah, I see. Well, regarding your cure for aids comment, you may be right, but you never know. They might find some crazy discovery outside of this, and it could cure aids. I, myself, doubt this, as well, but like I said, you never really know.
