Well, I went to see Borat tonight, and of the three showings I could have chosen from, 9:45, 10:15, and 11:00, all three were sold out. So I ended up seeing The Departed. I was disappointed by the fact that I left hoping to see Borat and in the mood for a comedy, but I'll tell you one thing, I did not leave disappointed. The Departed is one of the better movies I have seen in a long time. The reviews were right, this has 93% for a reason.

I enjoyed the ending so much, and the whole theatre cheered at it too.

This is how you make people hate a character... then give him what he deserves.

Another example of America remaking a film that didn't need it.
It gets a fail/10 from me for being completely unoriginal.

Go watch Infernal affairs, "Mou gaan dou".

Unoriginal... They took a movie from Honk Kong and catered it to the american market it was suppose to be same how can that be unoriginal.

I told you to watch this a while ago OP it's an amazing movie.

You should have mugged someone in the washrooms and taken his ticket. Or, buy a ticked for some other movie, and go see Borat anyway.

Unoriginal?.... Maybe you should reevaluate your "fail/10" and get your facts straight.

This movie is indeed one of the better movies this year, watched it on friday.

I don't see how this we-need-to-'fix'-it-for-the-western-world-mentality is necassary.
Or do subtitles defeat americans?

IMO the origional was better, and this 'version' is unecassary.

I'm a big fan of the original trilogy - though hopefully what The Departed will mean is fans of the remake will go and see the originals.

The ending was ridiculous.

OMGDONTHIGHLIGHT

Everyone got headshots =/

And yeah, **** America for making remakes. Goddamn unoriginal bastards can't do anything right. With great actors like the recently deceased Crocodile Hunter (Yeah, hes dead. But he can still outact any American Imperialist Pig!), Australia should have remade the movie and shown America what a good movie really is.

Go away, Warren. I have doubts as to whether or not you even bothered watching it since you're afraid of remakes. I'm sure the Chinese version was the best movie ever made, but quite a few people hadn't heard of it until The Departed was in the works.

I probably wouldn't have seen the movie if my lover hadn't asked me to go with her, but it was worth the scratch.

The Departed is the best movie I've seen this year, hands down. I saw Borat this Friday too; it was at midnight but I more or less enjoyed it . . .
omg though, you might want to take along blinders for a certain part . . . and you'll know it when you see it ;_;

This comment is based solely on a previous comment: Considering the original was a trilogy (major wtf to that), I'm gonna say a remake really might be that bad.
