MS Paint fails. But I'll bite. And no the second one isn't shopped....someone just borked the shutter timing on their camera for the win. Costume is Seifer Almasy from Final Fantasy VIII. I made the Gunblade, and did all the makeup, but the costume was made by a friend.

Pine and Balsa (I think, I can't quite remember). The blade and most of the handle are a single contiguous piece (Pine) and the embellishments that make up the sides of the handle, cocking mechanism, etc are flat pieces that were layered. I used red finishing putty (for cars) to cover the lines, which are only visible if you get up really close.
