Please direct any and all thoughts on the U.S. 2008 election here.

This thread was made in preparation for the VP debates tomorrow, which I think should be entertaining.

I cannot believe when Palin was given a chance to restate herself on that ignorant 'Russia foreign experience being sufficient simply due to the near proximity to Alaska' she simply quotes herself. Definitely a political stunt to boost media coverage and it's working. Damn.

There are plenty of Cons for both candidates, one quick jab through Google will net you most of them.

Well, i was originally going to google that information but rather than know if i'm reading false information or not, i feel that it would be better to hear from someone who knows what they're talking about, and i know you know politics cumba. and i'm lazy, i apologize. I haven't really been upkeeping with this election but so far to me it's the same ol republican war whore and democrat tax whore.

As he said, you're better off using google. If you get his perspective, it'll have a conservative slant. If you get my perspective, it'll have a liberal slant. Just look for an objective comparison of their policies.

That's absolutely correct Zeo, and that's why I didn't offer the cons of both. I'm likely to miss cons on McCain that you'd pick up and vice-versa. Or worse, not see a con as you (Epedemic) see a con.

Well, you both are right but going through google may just give me the same conservative or liberal slant depending on what is written and who writes it. I would imagine someone would try to be balanced but I haven't searched through yet, maybe i'll try now.

Obama is the one. McCain cant get to his feet. Cmon the guy that obama chose to vice is told to be a brain in finances. As for McCain, that woman Palin, she is prety, catholic and WHITE, which for many americans its the ideal of a woman. I wish i had a candidate to my coutry like obama, I would trust him my vote.

Being a right centrist means I will always lean conservative unless I feel that the right wing candidate is competely unpalpatable. For instance, a third term of Bush would be out of the question. I don't see McCain as being a third Bush term despite the leftist propaganda that supposes he will be.

I feel Obama is not right for the presidency, and I believe his choice of Joe Biden confirms that he had no intention of living up to his change mantra. He will be more of the same.

Both candidates are doing what they need to do to be elected, I firmly believe that neither of them has America's best interest at heart. That being said, I will vote for the candidate that will cause the least damage IMO. For me, as of right this instant, that candidate is McCain.

Obama's recent actions, like forming "truth squads" reeks of totalitarian socialism, and I'll have no part of that in my country thank you.

And this is why you should look elsewhere for information, Optikz.

I guess you're right, lol. ;)

I don't know but to me, i feel as if obama is doing more for us and our country attempting to trying to repair it and mccain just wants to help the country a bit but is more or so toward sending troops to iraq and etc wasting more money. That's just kind of what i see on it atm, and i tend to lend toward obama, regardless of race and he seems like a young intelligent guy who could be capable of being a good president.

John McCain has them as well.
That is absolutely true, and again, that's why I don't like either candidate.

Further, most of our enemies are endorsing Obama, that tells me all I need to know about his foreign policy. I hope he defers a lot to el windbag Biden, because sadly I don't see McCain winning the election.

Our allies are endorsing him, too. So are the majority of Americans if you look at the most recent polls. The fact that our so called enemies want him in means nothing, other than the fact that they believe he would be less likely to invade another foreign country. . . Which I consider a good thing. I believe whole heatedly that if McCain gets elected, we will go into Iran.

I thought today's debate went well. I'd go as far as to say Biden did better overall than Obama, but McCain was just rude when he kept referring to Obama so condescendingly.

The VP debates finished up an hour or so ago. In my opinion, Biden came out as the winner, but Palin managed to stay afloat which I'm sure a lot of people will consider to be a win for her. There were at least two separate occasions where I wanted to shout at the T.V. and correct Palin, though.

Anyone else watch it?
