Not me.. Even though, it is cheap that you get it below $50.

The Orange Box features three highly-awaited new games by Valve: Half-Life® 2: Episode Two, the second installment in the Half-Life 2 episodic trilogy; Team Fortress® 2, the sequel to the game that put class-based, multiplayer team warfare on the map; and Portal, the game that blends puzzles, first person action, and adventure gaming to produce an experience like no other.

To bring gamers up to date with the Half-Life 2 universe, The Orange Box also includes Half-Life 2, the best-selling and highest-rated action game series of all time, and the episodic debut Half-Life® 2: Episode One.

Heck, you have to buy Half-Life 2 & Episode 1 again while I already own it.. Nice going VALVe.

I preordered the black box awhile ago...although I heard those aren't being made anymore. Can anyone confirm that? If so I want my goddamn money back.

Yup black box = no more. also sky you can give HL2 and EP1 to a friend when the orange box is released. You get an option to "gift" those games.

You'll be able to buy the games individually on Steam the day the game releases. You have to buy the full package to get into the 'beta' however (tbh, it's a demo, we all know that). Nothing wrong with that imo

It's the full game, they just threw on the beta tag to keep the retailers at bay.

Damn, that's it. I'm preordering.

Edit: Holy ****. Is this game seriously 7 gigs? Jesus ****... I'll have to beg my neighbors for their bandwidth because I have a weekly cap of 5 GB, and it gets quite pricey past that.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying it maybe you can help me out? It keeps crashing, and runs really choppy on my system. It takes about 5 minutes to load on start up and to change any graphical options takes even more. But maybe that's normal?

I have 2.8 GHZ and 1 gig of RAM. My video card is a Radeon X550XTX which i'm willing to bet is the problem... hopefully someone else has been having these problems or knows that my video card just sucks for a fact. And can reccomend a better one.

I really wanna play TF2 in all it's glory, i've been waiting ever so long. :(

You're getting those 2 for free, and once Orange Box is officially released you can gift those to a friend/relative/whoever you want to.

I've got 15 hours put into the beta so far :p

I never bought Ep 1, so it's kind of like an added bonus for me.

(and the installer was lying, it was only 4 GB or so)

have any of you had the sound loop crash? seems to be a big problem with a lot of people on the steam forums, and its in a big hardware range. even people with +$2,000 systems are having it.

I myself have been plagued with it and can't play TF2 for more than 2-3 min.

Hey, beta is fun so far but it runs really laggy for me, even when I have a ping of under 10. In big battles my game just stutters horribly, like flying into Ironforge horribly.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could cut down the choppiness? Which video options to tweak? Anything? TF just isn't fun without the big battles...

Will you also be able to get Team Fortress seperate? I might get it then. Also, how is the performance on an average system? Is it much graphics heavier than Half Life 2 or about the same?

Seperate? For what $5 bucks? Haha

The entire pack is only $45!
Actually, iirc, TF2, on its own, is $30 (in USD). Episode 2, on its own, will be $30 through Steam, and Portal will be $20. So, if you consider that, it's probably just easier to go with the Orange Box (unless you're positive you won't want Episode 2 or Portal any time soon).

I think the figure Steam gives you is that the component games are, collectively, $130 through steam, and pre-buying the Orange Box is $45.

Heck, even I think the redundancy of purchase (as I already have HL2) is completely outweighed in this case, heh.
