I'm surprised no one has made this topic yet.

Well, here's a two in one topic, hope it goes well.

Anyone here got their super smash bro's BRAWL game yet? I heard tons of people didn't work. Something with the lens and the dual layered disc. How's that holdin up for ya?!

Also, for those who it DOES work, what's it like? Is it the godly game everyone said it would be?

My older brother received it in the mail last night, he pre-ordered it a few months ago.

Unfortunately he lives all of the way across town, so I have yet to play.

from what i remember from the japan release, brawl's cds are something special where you really need your lens to be clean, which works w/ a simple reset? i dont remember all the details. i'm sad i won't be buying it because i have no time to play it in school :(

Nintendo said that dust and smoke can cloud up the lens, and Brawl's disc is a dual-layer disc, which apparently needs a super precise lens. If the lens is very dirty, it might prevent it from reading the disc correctly.

Brawl is the first Wii game to have dual-layer, so that's why this is the first game to have this problem pop up.

As with most Nintendo hardware, I think you can fix it by blowing into the disc slot. :p

Nintendo & Microsoft should just convert to Blu Ray format.

As long as the Wii or Wii 2 don't support true HD, there's no point to having a 50 gig disc for a Nintendo system yet.

Mine is working fine, and I ****ing love it. Bought it at 9 A.M. The characters are pretty easy to unlock.

Friend of a friend of mine got the Jap version shortly after release and they've been playing it almost non-stop and giving nothing but praise for it. So I think it's pretty good. I've yet to play it though.

No disc errors here, but damn adventure is so freaking long. My bro and I are taking turns because it seems every scene we complete is 1% to the game, taking 25 minutes each part. ;_;

We're at 30% now, har.
