I suggest a editor for ESF final, that is if you can do this.

That's all really.

By the way, how can you terminate my internet connection?

A map editor?
There already is one >.>
Just look at how NNK's maps are done. It's the same as ESF Final
I remember a readme.txt file or something of what you need to create the maps

There isn't a map editor.

The maps for ESF: Final are being made in a 3d modeling program.

What do you call Valve's hammer, then?

In any ways, I already told him how to find a way of doing maps.
But modeling is a hard work

Either way, VHE levels won't work with ESF:Final anymore, so you've gotta create the levels in 3dsmax (or any other program that allows you to create models.. ex: ms3d, lightwave, maya, etc)

VHE is a tool tahts totally useless in ESF Final. And what you told him is outdated and unnecesairy. We have Generation 3 maps where NNK Has generation 2 maps. We have no hammer map making required. Or rather even if you make a map in hammer it wont work with ESF FInal as we totally switched formats. So tos ay ^^

Oh.

So not possible.
I'm sure it is possible, but what's the point really? It would require so much work to get everything needed and add all the extra features just to create fan maps for ESF, when you can just use 3dsmax to create the mesh. :)

So what should i use to make a map for Esf: Final? A normal 3d modeling program? If so then is "Blender" good for that?

Maps are made using 3D Max. Other details (such as spawnpoints, lighting and water) specific to that map are then configured via a config file. Im sure Grega could elaborate on that more accurately.
In terms of the creative freedom involved in creating a map for ESF, I highly doubt the team is about to produce a utility on par with 3D Max as an alternative.

You can use any modeling program that has the ability to produce OBJ model files. Ofcourse the settings have to be correct in order for the asset converter to work but for starters you just need an OBJ compatible modeling program.

Well, you can use your tablet to navigate your 3D program and paint the textures with your art program =/

I would like to ask - how difficult is it to reverse engineer the new mapping system in terms of edits and rips?

Not sure, but...you could try using Google Sketchup to create your maps, maybe. From what I remember, Google has this export function to 3ds Max. And with 3dsMax you could convert them to the desired model file. Don't expect anything fancy though. Google Sketchup is great for quickly 'sketching' a 3D environment, but for the really well made maps, you will still need to do most, if not all, work in 3ds Max.

But seeing as how it functions as an architectural design program, it should be somewhat usable. At least you should be able to create some great houses for ESF. :p
