steam problems (again)

I haveing troble with steam. I loaded it up all good and working no problems. Then when i go to change my contorls there are no controls to change. So i think, ok fine i'll just use the defaults but no keys work, the consol sais there all unbound. Ive tryed reseting the defualts but that dont work. I have no idea whats going on, someone please help.

Download the ESF Steam Pack and install it.

Er, i did that but where do you install it to?

Install it to your desk, then copy all files to your ESF folder ( .../esf/ )

You install esf to your steam directory First

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[email protected]\half-life

Then install the steam pack to

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[email protected]\half-life\esf

and away you go.
