So far, that looks amazing. I'm not sure what it is, but something about the feet look really awkward. Maybe it's just the perspective.

been texturing in some of my spare time. 100% self illum.
Using photoshop on a new tft which is brighter than my crt, so if its too dark let is know.

try this place for some decent crits it has a fantastic board.

Shedbandit and Draven are awesome artists...

erm its not too bright at all I have quite a dark monitor here and it looks fine so far.

Seems as your using the grit, dirt and rust approach I'd advise fading the colours of the metal. At the moment its far too bright in places, i.e. if your having worn material the colour will fade if its rusted / damaged.

Make sure any light on the model casts ambience onto other parts of the texture map.

Its turning out quite nice atm.

peace

lol, do you know thats the first c&c ive recieved for the model, cheers Greg. I knew it was lacking something but couldnt think of what really.

edit: The only parts that ive textured as lights are his eyes, not sure what else there is to glow on the model. I think ive got the eyes just about right, they stand out but i didnt want the ambience to be too much.

better?

I remember someone saying that 60% illumination is close enough to what the shadows will be if it were ingame. I could of just dreamt seeing it somewhere lol.
