So I came across this dude Adywan who was very frustrated with the 2004 DVD editions of Star Wars, and thus decided to "retouch" some sequences he thought needed a little love.
By retouch I had no idea this guy actually went as far as to add completely new footage to the movie.
Check it out!

EDIT: I just noticed I posted this in the wrong section. (Facepalm) Please move this to off-topic. Haven't created a thread in so long you start loosing your edge, ya know.

Very nice work, Lucas should give him a job. Though I doubt even he can save episodes I and II.

Not bad. I think where he cleaned up the footage was good. I'm not a big fan of the actual footage changes. Not that they're bad and not that they're not actually better. But they're not the original. And he has problem with math and the number of ships actually present I think :p

Most of those numerical facts come from EU sources since it was never stated how many rebel or imperial forces actually duked it out.
For example, it says that only black squadron, Darth Vader's elite squadron attacked, seeing as how Tarkin refused to launch any fighters, so it makes some sense.
But if you think that's bad wait till you see the amount of AT-AT's he's put in ESB.

Another Adywan clip, this one's hilarious.

I need to sit down and watch all of this. It's a nice addition (kinda like the special editions - though lets never speak of Han firing first again :p ) though not a replacement. One of these days I need to pickup the DVD versions of the THX releases (remastered, but no new content).

I just picked this up out of utter curiosity. There's no replacing the OT in any way, but new scenes do add to the intensity, and its quite refreshing.
