heh it look as if you just used the gradient tool.. i would give it a try at skinning it but my technique is similar to dan's so i dont wanna get called for ripping <_<

well, the reason it looks 2d is cuz he has it at 100& lighting, (no shadows) taking screenshots like that is usually the best way to show the detail of a skin, leaving the shadows on is good on low detail skins

the model or skin itself does not actually look 2d,


slim make a pictire with regular lighting so theyll know what im talking about
