Well, I was on a Mac one day in school looking at Porn you see. And well to make a long story short- I ended up getting caught because when I pressed the 'x' button to close the screen before the teacher saw me, and the ****ing swirly circle of death came up and it didn't close!! So there I am with my hand on my **** and the porn screen still up and BAM the teacher is like "you're so ****ed" (haha pun) and I was suspened from school. ****ing Mac's.

.......right.

Any REAL stories?

Fire stole my name and changed it so much that it became an actual word as well as a legendary animal.

First off it is so real. Well... maybe I exagerated a little

And that's not a Mac's fault >.>

In high school, I took graphic arts, and the teacher used a Mac to keep track of our grades, and to teach us.

Let's just say one day the Mac decided to delete everything the second he opened a folder, and we were watching him on a television beside the Mac.

From that day, I hate Macs, because he decided to be in a horrible mood for the rest of the week, and take it out on us.

These are kinda not what I was expecting, heh. They mostly sound like what my buddy calls 'error ID-10-t' so far. I was hoping to see more stories where the Mac was more entirely at fault for some great situations.

Honestly at the newspaper company I work for, sometimes the Macs act so stupid that I just laugh. I actually dropped the default windows XP desktop onto my Mac's background just to piss off the Mac fans I work with, hehe.

well other than a crapload of crashes and thigns just generally not working i had one problem that stuck out.

We were using mac physics programs to analyze data in college, and the program kept randomely closing and we had to start all over again i eventually figure out that it would close all programs everytime i pressed ctrl, alt, tab, shift, or escape. Completely screwed our data collection had to spedn so much time making that one up.

Yeah, making up stories does take a lot of time.
At least, that's what I thought you meant when I first read it o_O

Actually that doesn't sound like BS at all to me. At my job, whenever I copy or paste something in Microsoft word, even if its one letter, it crashes the entire computer.

Apple Key and C to copy and V to paste isn't it?

I had to use G4s for my film class at uni/college but the lousy 1 button mice annoyed the **** out of me, not to mention Final Cut Pro was slow as **** to print to tape and render and kept on crashing.

From the third class onwards I did my editing in the PC Labs using Premier and a proper mouse on a real computer.

Yeah people say Macs are great for multimedia, music, graphic and video editing but what good is it when the system is as stable as a one legged man trying to walk a tightrope.

To copy and paste on a Mac, you use the 'Command' key+C to copy, or 'Command Key'+V to paste. However, the MacOS doesn't recognize these commands. You can do it in programs--but not in the OS, to move files, etc.

Steve Jobs took the invention of Windows so personally that he seemed to say, "Well screw that, I'm going to make my thing completely different just to be different." It does everything completely differently for nothing more than the arbitrary reason of wanting it to be incompatible with Windows. It's not better, it's made no strides in technology whatsoever. Thanks Steve Jobs for holding back personal computing for 15 years, and also, congratulates on finalling stealing the moniker of 'idiot box' from the TV.

The Macs I use aren't unstable at all. The problem is they're a pain to use.

Only problems I had with Apple systems were:
- On an old G3 iMac (the huge colorboxes) -> during my final scoolproject, the thing just locked-up during the save-process.. result was a corrupted file.. (Happens on Windows to, but meh)
- While watching videos during class, accidently pressing the sound-on key and letting the whole class know I'm watching movies (happens only on Macs :( )

And true, Macs are hard to use because everyone is used to Windows.. People grew up with Windows, so the conversion to MacOS X is quite bumpy.. I had problems to with using the silly mouse (back when the mouse was the flat ball thingy) and one mousebutton (ctrl + click ftw).. I had problems using the command-key instead of ctrl when doing basic command such as copy-paste.. But if you hang on for a while, you'll understand how everything works, and notice that it's quite similar to Windows (imho).. And tbh, I've been using the new iMac's, PowerBooks and PowerPC's (G5 stuff) and never have I encountered any problems..

Oh, and the reason why copy paste doesn't work is: you can move it with your mouse.. Move it to 10 different subfolders? Easy, grab the file, drag it to the first folder, keep holding the file, folder opens, move to subfolder (keep holding file), subfolder (still holding file), subfolder (...), subfolder (...), ..., finally drop file.. It's just as fast as "ctrl+v", doubleclick folder, doubleclick subfolder, doubleclick subfolder, doubleclick subfolder, ..., "ctrl+v".
