Scripting is much like how you can bind a function to a specific key within a game (like binding the "Use" function to the "e" key), though with scripting, you can bind multiple functions to one key. It's because of the ability to bind more than one function to a key that scripting is usually looked down on in multiplayer games.

AKA you can turn say a pistol into a machine gun, or perform a complicated manuver with 1 button. Considered by most to be a form of cheating since a lot of times what's scripted isn't possible normally.

Basically more then 1 command bound to a key or mousebutton/wheel.

Scripting, is what the average ESF player seems to cry when they're losing.
It will never make a pistol in any game with an ROF cap fire as fast as a machine gun, nor will it play the game for you as many people tend to assume.
Honestly, there are plenty of harmless scripts out there. Imagine a script that spams your flashlight off and on lightning quick in HL. Does that accomplish anything?
Imagine a script in Natural-Selection that calls for a med-pack and in team text says "I need a medpack!" Is that harmful?
They're really a case by case thing. To generalize is incorrect, and often absurd.
Some are undoubtably lame in ESF, as well as other games. A grand majority don't exist, or are pointless however.

What type of script are you looking for?
Just incase you dindt get it, depending on the script, scripts are bad and considered cheats. So NO, no one will give you links to scripts.
If I were you, I wouldnt ask about getting scripts here ever agian.
Another common misconception. Scripts are not downloaded, they are written. It's honestly a line of text.
They don't do anything for you, just combine commands into a single key.
Which, as you can imagine, *can* be abusive. But as stated a billion times before, it depends on the script, the game, etc. There are too many variables.
