made a scorpion model....just the beggining.
i know i need to fix the tail, legs and claws abit, but im shoing u guys it asking, what else do u think needs improovment ?

Not bad, I like the irregular bio mechanical look of the skin. The stinger needs to scream, "I vhill hurt j00 badly." But that's about it.

the stinger could use a bit of improvement, it looks like just a cone. if possible, try to give it that wierd shape real scorpions have.

other than that, looking good so far

what i mean is did u actually model it like pulling verticies or using nurbs

or did u make like speheres, cones, torus, and cilinders and then place them together to make it look like a scorpion

it looks like a bunch of primitives chucked together and changed a little but anyway, its not that bad, but the skin is horrible imo, its needs some shine

then all my work wasnt worth the time......
every lim took me like 10 mins atleast....every joint is something like 2000 poly...
and now that ive fixed the tail(something that took me 30 mins)...i see that u say i wiped it up from "speheres, cones, torus, and cilinders":\
anyway, i made a skeliton for it(like in 3dsm) something to work on, and built around it the "meat"....
ill show and update soon.....and hopefully get to what i really want.......(if someone will help me with that part :D)

Good, but I dont really like the texture or the stinger... I know its suppoed to be robotic... but still :S

its just to give it more "feel"
its not going to be like that(i hope)
im asking someone to color it for me in Pro or photoshop, since i dont know how 2 :eek:

I think the claws and the stinger need more detail especially. I'd rework some of the parts, and make them look more lifelike.

What are you going on about Spectre? It is just primitive shapes stuck together, which also explains why the tail looks like a cone(it is). And I checked your joints, they're 512 polys. It seems to me like your making some weird explanation to make it seem like more than it is. If your going to model anything, use Meta-Balls(if you've got Bryce5), or use height-map images to make a sort of 3-D model from 2-D(although this flings your poly count SKY high).

Howd you check his polys ?>.<
But yea... I never thought of it.... Meta balls stick together... it would smoothen out the holes in some of the joints

I checked his poly's by making the joints myself ( a sphere within a torus).

one thing:
that isnt how i made the joins -_-
2nd thing, i MADE IT WITH META BALLS!
to show u how much u understand.

and, i was so waiting for this reply,and it being a wip means it has lots of wrong things in it, and i dont have alot of time to work on it cause i have a huge test comming up, anyways, it will be done on friday(i hope)


(im impressed that u didnt go and show us a scorpion that u made in 3 mins as ussual....)

I don't think it is as bad as they do but it does need a different texture.
