Is it possible to rip music from a PS2 game?

If so, how?

The sound quality would be extremely low, and I don't have the hardware to do that anyways.

From what I understand... I don't think it's possible.

Well you could plug the sound cables from the ps2 into your pc (if you have a soundcard/motherboard with an in port) and record the game sound directely. (there are y-adaptors that merge the 2 sound cables into one)
There might be a way to extract the files, but I never searched for it.

Or you could just find a program to rip PS2 games sounds... that's what some sound artist do to rip Dragon Ball sounds from Budokai :p

It depends entirely on the game that you're trying to rip music from. Some require a lot of work while others require little-to-no effort. A lot of companies use formats not supported by anything you can obtain on the internet, this usually leaves you with having to build something that can read those formats. However like I stated previously, it's all dependent on the game and how the developers have it set up.

You could always do a search for game music sites, there's a lot of them out there.
