I've always loved songs like this. They're like, rock, generally metal sounding / regular rock with rapping lyrics (none of that lil'john ****, just regular quick rapping.)

Anyone know any bands like this? I'll try to edit this post with some examples, but I want to broaden my horizon with this style.

inb4 "omg rap is *** u like rap ur a ***" because I couldn't give a less of a **** hehe

that's the kind of song.

Well, considering all music is based off blues-sans-disco... most music tends to blend these days, as it seems like music has taken the boiling pot (American) approach.

wikipedia said:
Rap rock or HipRock developed in the mid to late 1980s. The roots of the style can be found in albums by bands such as The Clash,[2] whose songs " The Magnificent Seven," and "Lightning Strikes (Not Once But Twice)" off their album Sandinista! are arguably the first attempts by a rock group to adapt a hip hop style. Other bands to influence rap rock include Kottonmouth Kings, Stuck Mojo, Public Enemy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, (hed)p.e., Run-D.M.C. (along with Aerosmith), D.O.C. along Bride, Beastie Boys, Kid Rock, Powerman 5000, MDMA, Manafest, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, P.O.D., Nonpoint, Biohazard, 311, Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E., Pastor Troy, David Banner, Necro, Sutter Kain, Boondox,Last Credit, Tech N9ne, Suicidal Tendencies, Zebrahead and Rage Against the Machine were considered as the first wave of bands of this genre to achieve mainstream success. Also it is noted as Anthrax and Public Enemy Bring The Noise is labeled as the first Rapcore song.
However today's Rap-Rock scene has seen a shift from the hardcore sound of the late 80's and early 90's, to a softer sound. Also, the Latin rap group Cypress Hill is an example of an rap-rock outfit (a prime example is their half hip hop, half rock album, Skull & Bones).
Pastor Troy, is probably my favorite rap-rock artist. RAGE isn't bad either.

Limp Bizkit, POD, RHCP, some of the LP songs that feat The Executioners.
And by the way, rap is not crap. "Rappers" like 50penny that act like gangsters (not the "Say 'hello' to my little friend" gangsters) and 'rap' about how they get the ladies and have the money, those are the ****s.

P.O.D does an amazing job at this. LP does a great job too. though they're the only ones I can say that I really like. Rage does this, but I seriously hate rage with a passion =/

The "Numb Encore" song by Linkin Park and Jay-Z is pretty nice.

Hed Pe is also pretty much rap-metal.

Biohazard has some though they're on the more rock side of things. Beastie Boys have a few tracks with rock mixed in. Fear Factory has a couple of good ones, The Edgecrusher and Back The **** Up.

You are correct. I was listening to MF Doom before I found this thread, in fact.

Any way, this thread is proof of why Rage Against The Machine is the best band ever.

Using my thread necromancy skills, I bring you the highly relevant Hollywood Undead. You see the joke I'm going for here? I'm not going to explain it to kill its humor like I probably have already.

Anyway, I like 'em, but I will admit they've got Hot Topic and typical angsty youth fans written all over them.

Check out Undead by them, at least.
