How much BHP would a 5.7 litre V8 engine have?

Asking this because I plan on buying a car which has an engine like that and I don't quite believe what the dude said about it.

So yeah, anyone?

No, it's a Chevrolet Camaro (hopefully).

300 seems a bit.. much. I was told it had a little over 200 BHP, which sounded a bit low but maybe I'm just spoiled by reading so many ads and whatnot.

And it actually runs 6 kilometers on 1 liter of gas. (dunno miles per gallon whatever).

It's from 1980.

I don't like new cars.

Wow that's a pretty classic Camaro, you'd probably be able to get at least 250 horses out of that thing I would imagine with an engine that big. When I come to the Netherlands we're totally going for a ride and blasting 80's hair metal.

I don't have it yet, checking it out tomorrow.

Color is *****ing, it's Kawasaki green with a metallic black hood. It's sure to turn some heads. o/

Well, I like old cars more.

Only 2 problems, tell me if that comes to mind:
The engine might get dead pretty fast as im sure it was used not a bit as well as the overall car may give you problems since it is old.

And don't you care about air condition? I don't think it got any...

If you kill a V8 like that you're an idiot, those things are virtually indestructible. And what do you mean about air condition? The intake?

Btw, I checked out that Camaro today and it was a bust. Turns out there's rust on the hood, the exhaust was leaking and the floor was rotting away. I gave the guy a disapproving look and drove home.

All in all a very disappointing afternoon. :(

Air condition as to the system that gives you cool air in the summer.

The 5.7 liter chevy small block (LT-1, the only 350 available was in the Z28) puts out 360bhp factory fresh. You can get it near 400 bhp with minimal improvements. My Dad's 1976 Monte Carlo had an LT-1 and it was putting near 380bhp at the wheel with aftermarket headers, holly carb, mini-fireball heads, and a hand made forced air induction system. That thing was a beast.

God I loved that car.

Incedentally, the Monte made about between 8 and 5 mpg highway.

It wasn't a very good car, looked good on the photo's but I drove 180 km to see it and it turned out to be awful.

More looking around for me. I'm set on a real classic muscle car such as the Firebird, Camaro or a Mustang (even though those are so effing expensive).
