PS2 Emulator (not rom based, bored at work)

Basically, I'm wondering if we know of any good, functional PS2 emus that run actual PS2 games on a DVD rom drive. I'd haul my PS2 in if this laptop had TV in. I know this is kinda grey area in terms of legality. But I own the system, the games, etc, I just wanna play at work

It can play commercial games from the DVD Drive. It all depends on your configuration and your computer specs of course, but yes, it is very possible.

Intel Core 2 duo 2.4 ghz (T7700 Merom, specifically), 256 mb geforce 8600 GT, 3 gigs ram. I should be ok.

There was only one somewhat good one, but no PC at this moment can play any game on it yet. Well not good, anway. I tried it on my lappy (T7300 @ 2.0 ghz) and it won't even run (tried Dark Cloud, original disc).

I agree, I haven't tuned into any PS2 emulators since two years ago, back then, it wasn't going so well. I'm not surprised how far this has come though, considering that here are Dreamcast emulators out there that run perfectly on decent computers.
