I'm having an issue removing my old XP Partition as Vista still seems to be using it for some odd reasons. When I try to format/remove it, I am getting the errors:

"Windows Cannot Format the system partition on this disk"
"Windows cannot delete the active system partition on this disk"

Now, of course I could use software to force removing it, but after I used the prompt BCDEDIT, I noticed this:

Windows Boot Manager
--------------------
identifier {bootmgr}
device partition=D:
description Windows Boot Manager
locale en-US
inherit {globalsettings}
default {current}
resumeobject {99f76e07-ff68-11dc-b203-ef7e4dfc8417}
displayorder {current}
{3f4015b3-01c7-11dd-8a4b-e3320c87bad2}
toolsdisplayorder {memdiag}
timeout 1
D is the partition I want to remove, but the boot manager still seems to be using D. So, any idea how to resolve this issue?

Remove the boot manager?
Feel free to explain how to. I've removed everything in D already, except some things windows refuses to remove.

Use the windows restore cd help function.
you can remove the bootmanager from there.

shouldn't be to hard figure out how to do from there on out.

Well, for a start my computer asked for a boot disk. The boot manager totally got screwed up. Vista was depending on my D (Old XP) partition for boot management. Which I find totally wrong.

try that

also again, google is your friend.

this isn't a uncommon problem, you're better off looking for guides which will be way quicker then waiting on responses here
