I don't know but there a strange PL Bug Theath mekes the beam spaming the beast weapon here is a exeple
Vegeta Ki 20 000 000
Vs
Goku ki 750 000

Vegeta DMG at Galletgun is like not a instant killer just like 70 dmg
Vegeta DMG at BigBang attack it's like 80 dmg
Vegeta FinalFlash Instant kiler if you hit him
---------------------------------------------------
Here is the bug
Vegeta Ki 20 000 000
Vs
Like 10 players of normal pl
Vegeta's GalletGun dmg 1000
Vegeta BIG BANG DMG 1500
Vegeta Final-Flash DMG 3000
Or someting like theath
This is a HUGE DAMAGE if there r a lot of players but if there only one the dmg will be smaler

thats due to the server average PL
damage is calculted based on the average PL
if there is one high PL player and one low PL player the average is the exact middle of both values thus medium damage for the high pl player. however if a few more low pl players join the average PL drops and the high PL player will do a lot more damage.

Yes I know this but is this a bug or what ? i think the PL suld stay the same at all level

I think in ESF 1.3 there will be an CVAR to stop dropping PL when there is "Server Average PL" thinggy activated.

It isnt a bug. Its just that beams wernt actualy thought to be spammed like that. I mean that came with 1.2 since in 1.1 you lost your lockon and the ability to swoop if you selected a beam.

But in 1.2 you can swoop all you want with a beam selected. Thus beamspam was free to roam the face of ESF.

Its just something they didnt forsee happening. My guess is they are gona fix it with 1.3

There already is.

It's called mp_plcatchup.

ah yeh i meant it different. ^^
What i mean is that you loose PL when mp_plcatchup is on 1.
But in ESF 1.3 there is an CVAR to stop dropping PL even when there is pl_catchup 1 , so the PL only goes up then.

As far as i read somewhere (i think it was in teh design documents)

there will be mp_plcatchup x
x = (0,1,2)

0 - disabled
1 - enabled
2 - enabled but you only gain PL if you are below teh average not loose it if you are over the average

so it's not a Bug just to prevent Beam spaming right ?
so if mp_plcatchup will be 0 the beam will have the same PL ? no PL loss?
and if so at 20 000 000 pl whith a KAMEHAMEHA I will destroy a hole map ?

mp_plcatchup 0 still is like mp_plcatchup 1 still there must be more then 1 player to have the normal DMG like 10

mp_plcatchup 0 means when you die you dont loose or gain PL (depending on if you are over or below the average of the server)

mp_plcatchup 1 means that when you die and you are below the servers average PL you gain PL. But if you are over it you loose PL (thats what we have now but most servers have it disabled)

mp_plcatchup 2 when you die and you are below the servers average you gain some PL. Once you are over the average and die you dont loose your PL like with number 1 instead it stays the same as you had befor you died.

Greaga i was talking about the dmg whith a big PL player angaist a small pl the dmg it's small but agains more people the dmg it's geting to hes true power
