ok well i tried box modeling seems easy enough *cough*cough* and splining but then i heard der ws poly by poly which i heard was good but i dunno how to do it in max , could anyone tell me or tell me a tutorial link, i look on google but it comes up with giberish

thx man, hmm just wondering will it be the same in 3ds max 6?
*EDIT*
Just got a chance to read it afer helping me mum , very helpfull and it looks like this way is the best to do it :p well for me anyways :D

i am modeling in 3d studio max and i can tell ya it is the same cept i always start of with making a line and making it a face (wich means take the lines tool and make a triangle and click yes when a poup box appears) then you got a face already and from here on you just convert it to editable mesh and make some vertexes create faces bla bla bla youll kno if ya tried 3d max...
