I'm not sure if there's a format I have to post my problem in, forgive me if there is, but I have a steam account and found this really cool looking mod. I followed the instructions (hoping to install the ESF on CS1) and got 1.2 Beta, but whenever I try to install it to steam/steamapps/myusername/counter-strike/hl.exe, it says the following:

The file C:/Program Files/steam/steamapps/myusername/counter-strike/esf/hl.exe/autoexe.cfg could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full/the path to the directory is valid.

I really have absolutley no idea what this means, I just want to play ESF desperatley. Thanks in advance for helping.

steam/steamapps/myusername/counter-strike/hl.exe

there is your problem

You have to install it to: steam/steamapps/myusername/counter-strike/
No hl.exe in the end.

Strange, its installed, but now whenever I click it it just brings up Steam and shows me a place where I can purchase Half Life.

What pacage did you buy to get CS?

If you got the one with CZ with it than ESf wont work on thatone.

To be honest I don't remember it was a very long time ago, but the games on my Steam are CS, CZ, CZ Deleted Scenes, Half Life 2 Demo, and Codename Gordon. Not sure if that helps.
