You guys may have heard me talk about Planetside before. It's an MMO FPS with a persistent war. Hard to explain. Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlanetSide Well anyway, Sony's finally officially announced Planetside 2. It's looking pretty good so far. www.planetside2.com The graphics are pretty nice for a huge MMO and the gameplay looks a lot bigger and more epic than the original. Really looking forward to this. Hoping it doesn't go free to play as a symptom of not being good enough to sell. Still, here's to hoping it plays as good as it looks so far. check out the trailer. www.planetside2.com

So far its looking good. Although I don't see the need for all hubbub with it going F2P. If they start F2P, there probably have figured out all the mechanics to go with it and it hopefully won't feel "forced" like all the P2P to F2P conversions recently. There are some really good F2P games in the market, and those have started out F2P and not because they were afraid the game wouldn't sell. F2P is the future of mmos, for better or for worse, its here to stay. And I don't think I mind, as long as its done right.
