I'm trying to make a label for a beer bottle model I made, and I need to draw a circle. I need the outline of a circle, but all I can manage is a solid circle, completely filled in. I can also put lots of neat patterns and colours inside this circle, but the damned thing won't give me what I want. If I had Claris Works, I could put together what I needed in a couple minutes, but, using the latest software I am unable to accomplish what would be simple with decade old Mac software.

Anybody have advice on what I can do to make a circle?

I'm using Photoshop 7, so if you're using CS it might be different.

There's a custom shape for it. When you're in the shape tool, click on the blob-shaped icon, then select it from the Shape menu that will appear to its right.

If you want one of different width, you can always make a solid-filled circle, select the entire layer, then contract the selection and delete.
