I think there was a short movie out on the internet somewhere that was based on Half-Life, but that was a number of years ago.

The only way there can be a Half-Life movie is if someone approaches VALVe with a good script. I remember reading in a number of interviews with VALVe on the topic of Half-Life being made into a movie that a lot of people have approached them about the idea but none of the scripts were good. So, the possibility for an actual Half-Life movie is still a possibility.

Looks fake, but I did read an interview years ago for a HL live action move. Valve got really pissed everytime the hollywood guys wanted to give Gordon a love interest causing Valve to walk out on it. That was the last I heard.

Yep. The only way around that is to make a side-story, kind of like what they did with Opposing Force and Blue Shift. You only see Gordon Freeman briefly, and then you continue on.
