old halflife

i have a old version of half life 1 is the Sierra best seller series edtion so i got it cheap, its is updated with the latested patch but it still saying its out of date and then when i go to download it again it says you half life has the lastest patch and its cant deside what, and now it doing the same with ESF and i have downloaded all the patches with ESF to and its still not letting me on any internet games, oh and because it the old version steam will not go with it.

forgot to say it will not take steam if theres a way i can get its to be registered plz someone say

Well than you screwd up bigtime. You can only play online with STEAM. Also the WON version works for some people dosent for others. But in any case its full of bugs so i dont recomend that. Your only choice is to get a new HL with a CD-key that works on STEAM.

In other words buy it a t the store >.> the right one this time
