Well, it's 6:50 in the morning, and I'm getting ready for my first day at my summer job. The last time I was up this early I hadn't been to bed at all the night before, so this is something of a shock to my system. This could be my routine for the next 4 months, depending on what kind of schedule I get. This is my first day at Labatt Alberta Brewery. That's right, I'll be working at a place that makes beer. I get $12.50 an hour, plus a 12 of beer every other week in the form of my very own beer Visa. I'm still not entirely sure what it is I'll be doing there, but I figure it's some kind of physical labour (which makes perfect sense being as I just spent the last 8 months learning about, among other things, kinematics, thermodynamics, and more methods of integration than I cared to know existed).

School just let out for us older post-secondary folk, and is about to let out for the rest of you lil'uns, so who else out there is heading off to a new job for the summer/being kicked out by their parents that don't want them hanging around all summer?

Once I graduate, I'm probably gonna be working at a UPS warehouse part time in the evenings because yeah, they give pretty damned good medical benefits right away. If I don't end up getting into the JET Program (currently an alternate but I probably will get in) I'll start looking for a full time job during the day and working at night. Having a Biology BS and a Japanese BA has got to get me somewhere :p

I work at Subway =/ 7.50 an hour, one free footlong (oh yeah) per everytime i work, plus 50% off when I don't work. My family ang GF get 50% off as well. Friends don't though. It's a fairly easy job I guess.

I worked at CVS up until yesterday (Quit). I made minimum wage and the job was fairly easy, I didn't really do anything.

I work at RGIS invintory specialists. After 2 raises and a promotion I'm making 10.25 an hour, and I tend to make between 700-1000 a week after taxes. The downsides are that means I work 80-100 hours a week. I also can only work certain times- I don't get a spread out job, it's just months of no work then months of working 80-100 hours, and I feel like death all the time.

I really hate my job.

Damn. Back when I used to work at Subway(And probably will when I go back to Del Norte for the summer) we didn't get discounts if we weren't working :( Your boss is nice.

My (future) job is probably going to be in the video game industry. I'm gonna become a video game designer, and start a company. You'll see, I'll be as big as Blizzard.

BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAa -cough-

You could start an evil lab on a remote Japanese island, that creates biological weapons, then take over the world.

I'm more of a night owl, and hate getting up early, so I prefer 2nd shift jobs, the 3pm to 12am stuff.

I didn't know Romania had a subway. Didn't know it was world wide like McDonalds and the other food places.

I work on a Organic Vineyard that spans 5 acres. We make a special blend of wine called Romantic Red. Its 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet. Also, I do constructioning and gardening at this place. 8 an hour with free wine. Used to do Jewelry work with the same guy but I stopped doing that because i got bored.

The problem with that is,

Everyone is doing it now. My dad's friend (programmar) doesn't even make that much and 3/4 of the day he's doing is coding the game.

Ontopic:

I don't have a job currently but I do freelance around my neighborhood, like repaint the fences due to graffiti, fix the fences (We had a drunk driver hit our private community, and now there's freaking coyotes in the neighborhood), and clean the community pool, and oh yeah, help the old.

Well, I got my first taste of my schedule. After another 8 AM day Tuesday, I start bright and early at 6:30. Considering my only form of transportation is my bike, I may have to get up at 4:30 in the morning. But, at $100/day, I can't complain.

Erm, no I live in Romania, Romania has a **** load of subways... we even have a dunkin doughnuts down the street from my house. It doesn't beat a Krispy Kreme but it's close enough :)

My boss is only nice if you do everything his way. We have like 10 different managers and you have to do everything their way, so there's 10 different ways to do the easiest job on earth. Like for example. Pulling bread; nothing oculd get easier, you take frozen bread, you put 12 on a metal sheet and put it in the walkin freezer. Apparently there are 10 ways of doing it the best because each manager says "My way is best, trust me" it's kinda funny -.- You'd think working at subway would be easy.

Another thing that sucks, is that we HAVE to be "sandwhich artists" if it doesn't look pretty you fail at life. Like, the turkey, when we put it on the bread, it has to be at a certain angle, and be folded properly, and it has to be evenly distributed throughout the bread then you have to massage caress and kiss the bread goodnight before you leave wtf! It's a ****ing sandwhich people; no one cares what it looks like it's going to turn into **** eventually.

I also get yelled at for wearing black undershirts because the customers will think i just throw on any old dirty undershirt on. You know I never saw it that way, i always came into a store wanted food, i never checked out people's undershirts until now. So i walked into a jamba juice the other day and was like OMG YOUR WEARING A BLUE UNDERSHIRT, you're so not making my drink. So I made someone else do it and gave them a hard time.

All the "Sandwich Artists" I've seen only do abstract. It usually takes a great deal of interpretation to realize that it is, in fact, a sandwich, and not just a log shaped salad.
