Dad went to Blizzcon today and he was more interested in Diablo 3 than LichKing. (and he hates Diablo!)

I love how they handle the Slow Time spell, creating a bubble where things are slowed as opposed to slowing down the entire game. That's cool.
If they've got a problem with the darkness, at least they've got a magic missile spell to cast at it now.

Oh, we already had this thread! can't wait!
I don't know if this will catch on like it used to. Back when Diablo 2 was made, the style was awesome, and the graphics relatively pretty, even though it was isometric. Today it'll seem a bit silly. I guess time will tell.

StarCraft 2, came many years later, and changed very little. It broke sales records and sold 3.5 Million in the first 48 hours, a record for RTS games. And ya know what? Most of the sales WEREN'T in Korea, infact, they seem to be one of the major countries who don't really like it.
People will buy it...
Because it's Blizzard, and Diablo, and it has such hype that people have more fun waiting for than playing other games.
I'm one of the few that stayed out of the hype, despite having played the 1st and 2nd one when they came out, I just waited, got a bet a invite, played, and placed an order for the CE. I didn't watch any videos or read any articles til Feb of this year, when I got an invite.
I really laugh at the people who say they aren't getting it merely cause Blizzard took to long, some even claim Blizzard betrayed them. I don't know how, but it appears lengthy game development is betrayal.
They could have made 4 Diablo games in the span it took to get Diablo 3 developed, and made tons of cash, they'd still sell like hotcakes, look at CoD, people love rebuying the same game they bought last year. Blizzard -could- have done that...but they didn't. They've taken their time instead of pumping out game after game.

I think it's funny how they're taking out PvP from the release and are adding it in a future patch instead. While I don't give a **** about PvP in most games, I just think it's pretty unprofessional of them to do something like that. I blame Activision.

PVP isn't done, man. If you played the beta, and the two demo's they had at the GDC's the last two years, they wanna finish it before release.

Why do I blame Activision? Well, they're most likely pushing for a release. Again, I couldn't care less about PvP, but I just find it funny how Blizzard is doing this despite them apparently wanting to release a finished product.

It's not about waiting, it's about them saying they wanted to release a finished product, and yet they decide to cut something out and leave it in for a future patch.
it's pvp .... people should play the game first anyways, it's fine if pvp is added later .... blizzard did it like this with WoW too .... arena n stuff werent added until much later. pvp is fine to add later ... play teh game first
