BG looks like simple brushing, and I don't particularly like the color tint of Nightmare.

Try to make the brushing look less grainy.

hmmm i just watched FF ac and im in the ff mood.... so i decided to make u a nice critsm ;P:

its to blury and you have to recolor it abit like that:

loool xD i kno that he´s from soul calibur

i just had sharped teh pic at all twice.. then i get a layer over the sharpened one and then i used motion blur and then i blended it <_< ... i get a new colored layer and thats it...

Pretty much agree with what Synth said. Too grany, and Tryforce made that grany effect worse with his "modification". Very basic brushing BG.
That color isnt very suiting for a character like Nightmare.

It's better, but now it's grainy -and- messy. Nightmare looks rusty.

1. Don't mess with the colors on Nightmare, make him the top layer, maybe add a gloss effect.

2. Stick with smoother brushes, finding a way to mix pen tool'd 2d art that flows with the image.

3. Decide a color scheme, consider a color that matches with the image slightly, for instance a steel blue background with gold 2d effects would be nice.

4. Make the font darker.
