New Wallpaper.

Aight, so I made meself a wallpaper. Showed it to Gaara Kun... He said he liked it, but it needed a pic. So we both worked together to find a Gundam pic that I liked. Anywho, here I bring you a new wallpaper. v1 is without the stock picture, v2 is with. Also, yes I know the left side is where people keep their icons so it shouldnt be busy... but I made this for myself, and I dont have/use icons. Also, keep in mind this is made for 1280 x 1024 rez.

I like the second one more, only thing that kinda bugs me is the amount of lines that you've placed in the top left, it's slightly too crowded. Stroke on the gundam is a bit pixelated sometimes but I really like the way you blended it in. Nice

I'll go ahead and try to un-pixelate the stroke... but the extremely crowded lines were created extremely crowded on purpose :] and the squares are also there for a reason... but I will go ahead and try to replace it if you had any idea what youd want instead.

Arright, un-pixelated the image. Learned a new technique from Saiga, although didnt get a chance to use it as the outline was too bold for my taste. Anyways, heres an updated version of it.. un pixelated and with a little more motion blur:

I quite like the motion blur on the gundam, gives the impression of motion (obviously ). Stroke looks nicer too. Thumbs up.

edit: also i presume you didnt make all those tech crap effects, and u got em from a brush pack... so you should credit the maker of it..

take out that blured crap in the left, and the 1st one is alot better. the 2nd one if used as wallpaper u will hardly see the image anyway. most peoples eyes are ganna be focused on the left because u have a huge black part that stands out.

Also, about the whole brush thing. Everybody uses brushes... I'll safely and surely assume everybody in the artwork section of this forum have used/is using custom brush packs/brushes that were downloaded from the internet. I havent seen anyone yet credit the authors of those brush packs/brushes. Plus, Im not using this for commercial use, and I would gladly credit the authors right now if I hadent renamed all my brush packs from 1-106.

1m4 - The huge black part is there for a reason. If you notice, when you first look at the wallpaper you start from around the top right corner. That takes you down to the techno part. While still concentrated on that part, your eye still looks down to the bottom right corner, even if you dont notice it. In the first version, there is a feeling that something is rather missing there because your eye cant really get the full satisfaction from the wallpaper, thus I put in the Gundam picture. For now its the thing that I think fits in the most. I didnt mean for it to be the center of attention in the background, if i did the entire thing wouldv been rearranged.

On the second one, try moving the gundam behind your colour layer if you have one, or if not slightly blend it in more (but not with less opacity - that'll look bad)

Apart from that, I like it - nice work!

parts of it are good, others not so good....

also make the gundam match the colour scheme of the rest of the WP like orion said

make the gundam colorless maybe? also some of the shapes on the center of the wallpaper are too thick and standing out too much. I think you should change that a bit.


but overall I think it's quite good.

Well, about the brushes thing - I decided Im gonna spend about two weeks of consistent brush-making-practice.

Also, I would say random. I did choose where, what, and how to place all of them.
